Excused Absences

Please call ​​in on the same day as the absence.  Be sure to let us know your student’s full name, your name, the date you are calling, the date of and the reason for the absence.  You can also send in a detailed note with your student, or fax the note to: 720-561-8701.

Tardiness

If/when your student is tardy for any reason, please have them sign in at the main office to get a pass to class.  If the tardiness is to be excused, please send your student with a note to the front office or call the attendance line the same day.  Please do not have the student give the note to a teacher.

Winter Social Occasion – This Friday!
Our “Winter Social Occasion” is this Friday at the UMC on the CU campus from 7:00–10:00 PM. With bowling, pool tables, pizza, and lots of fun, this has become one of our most popular school-wide events outside of Prom. It’s always more enjoyable with strong student participation, so thank you for encouraging your student to join us. Tickets are $15 and available on  NVHS Winter Social or with cash at school tomorrow or Friday.

Senior Culminating Work Session – Monday During Advisory
On Monday, our Seniors will share their Culminating Project progress with their panel members to receive feedback before heading into the spring stretch of this important graduation requirement. Because this time is dedicated to seniors, Freshmen–Juniors will have an extended lunch from 12:05–1:30 PM. Students may remain on campus to connect with friends or catch up on work heading into the final week of Quarter 2, or they may go off campus. Please take a moment to talk with your student about their plan for this time. Thank you for supporting our seniors as they take this next step.

Seasonal Health Reminder
With various seasonal illnesses circulating, we want to remind families about New Vista’s Health Page, where you will find guidance on illness prevention, when to stay home, medication requirements for school, and other helpful resources. Thank you for reviewing this information so we can work together to keep our community as healthy as possible through winter.

Quarter 2 Exhibition Day – Friday, December 19, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
Students have the opportunity to present their learning during Exhibition Day and are encouraged to do so at least twice during their time at New Vista. Please check in with your student about whether they plan to present. Families are warmly invited to attend—we would love to have you join us!

A:   BVSD automatically sends the activation key to a family's primary email after a student is registered in the district.  If you did not receive your activation key, please email our registrar, Betsy Hagar, betsy.hagar@bvsd.org
