A:  If your family applied by the Open Enrollment deadline, you should receive a notification through SchoolMint in January. If you have questions, please contact the Open Enrollment office, 720-561-5900.

A.  If your student applied after the lottery, your student will be placed on a wait list at the Open Enrollment Office.  Seats are offered on a space available basis, February through June and again in August.  We continue to interview and accept students until we are full.  For questions on when or if your student will be offered a seat off of the wait list, please call the Open Enrollment Office, 720-561-5900.

A:  All students who are accepted to New Vista will participate in an Admissions Conference with one of our staff.  You will see a link to request your conference in the email you receive from Open Enrollment notifying you of your student's acceptance.  

A.  The purpose of the Admissions Conference is to get to know your student a bit better.  It also helps us look for ways to help support your student.

A:  In the acceptance notice your family receives from Open Enrollment, there is a link to sign up for your conference.  It is a simple form that asks a few questions so we know a little bit more about your student.  You will receive a call shortly after completing the form to schedule the conference.  Conferences will take place starting early mid-January through mid-March.  Expect the conference to be during the school day, and it will take about an hour.

A.   After your student's conference, we will choose an advisor for them and will send out information for our Course Selection process that takes place in April.  Stay tuned!

A.  Out of District students apply through Open Enrollment the same way.  However, for students new to BVSD schools, the Open Enrollment process is not complete until you complete a separate registration application. The link to the application will be included in the Notification of Acceptance (email or text) you receive from Open Enrollment via SchoolMint.  For this online application, you will be asked to upload supporting documents to the accepted school to complete enrollment.  You will be given more information about these steps once your student is offered a seat.

A.  We will host a New Student Welcome Night in late April or early May.  Please visit our calendar for exact date.  All new students and their families will be invited to attend.

A. Students interested in transferring to New Vista after the school year begins will need to complete an Administrative Transfer application.  The preferred window for transfer students to apply to New Vista is after September 15 and prior to Thanksgiving Break for a January start. 

New Vista accepts current 9th and 10th graders as transfer students. Due to the nature of our program, students who are current juniors or seniors are no longer eligible to transfer.

Since New Vista is on a Quarter System and a Block Schedule, every day, the content covered in a New Vista class is equivalent to two days at a semester-based high school.  Therefore, it makes the most sense for a student to complete their course work at their current school and start at New Vista at the beginning of a new semester in order to maximize the number of credits that will transfer.

The number of Administrative Transfer students we can take depends on the number of seats we have available.
