The test is primarily given to 11th graders, though 9th and 10th graders are welcome to take it for practice. It is similar to the PSAT 10, which current 11th graders took last spring. New Vista High School is hosting the College Funding Coach on April 26th from 6:00-7:30 pm. This event is for any family wanting to learn how to pay for college (Preschool - High School). The College Funding Coach was founded in 2002 to help families better understand the complexities of paying for college and make higher education more affordable. Since that time, The College Funding Coach team have been on a mission to help families save on the high cost of higher education. The College Funding Coach’s founder, Brock Jolly, realized that most families want to help pay for their children’s education; but they often lack the liquidity and/or the cash flow to be able to do so. The College Funding Coach has established an approach that helps parents understand the college funding process, reduce their out-of-pocket expenses, and balance the challenge of saving for college and retirement simultaneously.  Following Mark's presentation, we will have Roy Sargent introducing an incredible free financial planning tool. Smart Track helps families compare college costs and financial aid offerings, view most generous colleges, learn how to maximize their financial aid package, and more.

There is no better way to prepare for the college application process than to understand how it will be reviewed by admissions readers. Unfortunately, this process is often shrouded in mystery as admissions decision are made privately in the offices of admissions. Stacy Hernandez and Trevor Donadt, who have over 15 years of experience reading applications at Johns Hopkins University, Tufts University, and Northeastern University, will pull back the curtain and reveal the decisions making process through this case studies-style program.  Open to all students and parents of New Vista High School. 9th-11th grade students are highly encouraged to attend as this program will teach you how admissions officers review the application and guide you through a review of REAL applications. Stacy and Trevor will train you to review applications with the eye of an admissions officer and guide you through a process of selecting the most compelling students as presented in the applications. From this program, you will gain an understanding of how to prepare a stronger list of experiences early in your high school career in ways that will benefit your future endeavors.

Don't miss this opportunity to start planning for your college admissions!!
