Megan Carlson TEACHER AND ADVISOR

Visual Arts

As an education student at the University of Colorado at Boulder, I had the opportunity to serve my practicum at New Vista High School in Andrew Pfouts’ classroom, and I quickly realized how amazing a learning environment this school is. I identify strongly with the school’s progressive philosophies on education, and its emphasis on the importance of building strong relationships with students. Finally, this school seems to really attract and foster creativity among its students, making it a dream demographic for an art teacher. I feel honored to be a part of the New Vista family.

 Accomplishments

Bachelor of Arts, English Literature, Studio Arts:  University of Colorado Boulder

I mainly consider myself a painter, but am open to exploration of all art forms and mediums in my personal work. My most successful artistic endeavor to date was to have a mosaic piece permanently installed in Denver’s City Park.
I am a RedLine Community Artspace Volunteer, a founding member of the D|Art Collaborative, and a member of the Corepower Yoga SET team (although I’ve been practicing yoga for about ten years now).  I have a strong background in English Literature, and would describe myself as a voracious reader.
